BOOK YOUR FIRST LESSON

To set up a lesson, e-mail hausofvining@gmail.com or fill out the Contact form in the About Lessons and Classes section, as it is recommended to have a brief planning dialog about your ability level and goals for your sewing lesson. This will ensure that both you and your instructor Ivy are fully prepared for your lesson.

Next, return to this page, (be sure to review the Deposit and Payment information and Lesson Policies), and scroll to the bottom to pay your Private Lesson Deposit and book your time slot. Once your deposit is paid, your lesson is confirmed!

Be sure to also visit the Lesson Tools and Supplies page for more information on how to be prepared for your lesson.

LESSON DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT

All first time private lessons require an initial deposit (equivalent to the hourly lesson fee) paid in advance of the lesson at the time you book your appointment. This deposit also serves as payment for the first hour of your lesson.

For lessons extending longer than one hour, the remainder of payment will be due at the completion of the lesson.

Lessons must be a minimum of one full hour in length, but additional time beyond the first complete hour can be broken down to half or quarter hour increments and the hourly lesson rate will be prorated accordingly.

Be sure to make your booking for the complete amount of time desired for your lesson, (regardless of the one hour deposit fee).

LESSON POLICIES

  • Your lesson is not officially booked until your lesson deposit has been submitted.  (First time lessons only)
  • You may cancel your lesson appointment up to 24 hours in advance and receive a full refund of your deposit. Deposits for no-shows or lessons canceled less than 24 hours in advance will not be refunded.
  • If you need to reschedule your lesson, please contact hausofvining@gmail.com as soon as possible to do so. For lessons appropriately rescheduled before their original start time occurs, your initial deposit will simply carry over to the new appointment time.
  • Private lesson fees do NOT include tools and project supplies. Some limited supplies and patterns are available for purchase from Haus of Vining at the time of your lesson, while others you will need to bring yourself. (See the Lesson Tools and Supplies page for more information). Necessary supplies for your project should be discussed with Ivy Vining in advance of your lesson to be sure that you can arrive as prepared as possible.
  • By participating in lessons or classes with Haus of Vining, you acknowledge that you are aware you will be using equipment that has the potential to cause injury, (including but not limited to cuts, pokes, and burns), and you release Haus of Vining and Ivy Vining from any liability (financial or otherwise) for any injuries sustained during the agreed upon lesson or class.
