Whether you're a total beginner who's never touched a sewing machine or experienced but looking to refine and advance your skills, Haus of Vining's garment sewing lessons are perfect for you!

  • You Don't Even Need To Own a Sewing Machine!: Work on one of Haus of Vining's BabyLock classroom machines, or use your own machine if you already have one.

What We Offer:

  • Machine Skills Lessons: Learn the basics of threading and operating a new or used sewing machine you have purchased, as well as good practices for machine ownership. Machine Skills classes can typically be completed in one hour, and are not technique or project-based.
  • Beginner Garment Sewing Lessons: Learn the fundamentals of sewing, including how to use a sewing machine, basic garment cutting and sewing techniques, and how to read and interpret a pattern.
  • Intermediate & Advanced Garment Sewing Lessons: Master complex patterns, professional and couture-level finishing techniques, and customized fitting for your body.
  • Patternmaking: Learn pattern manipulation and fitting techniques to create your own customized one-of-a-kind garments from a basic pattern block.
  • Draping: Discover how to drape your fabric directly onto a dress form to bring your fashion ideas to life in 3-dimensional form.

Lesson Types and Pricing:

  • Private Lessons ($50/hr): One-on-one instruction for personalized learning and faster progress.
  • Lessons with a Friend ($80/hr): Combined instruction with your bestie for reduced rates.
  • Expert Consultation at Your Next Group Sew (Contact for Pricing): Instructor Ivy Vining will attend your next Sewcial gathering to provide guidance to you and your friend group on all those WIP's (works in progress).
